Secretarial Office jobs go straight to the hips |

A new survey in the US says secretaries, receptionists and clerks working in an office may be prone to putting on weight. The survey of more than 5,600 secretarial and admin workers, conducted by Harris Interactive, found that 28 percent of secretaries had gained more than 10 pounds and 13 percent had gained more than 20 pounds in their current secretarial admin jobs. Snacking and eating too much fast food may be part of the problem. The survey found that 58 percent of secretaries and receptionists eat out at work for lunch at least once a week, with more than 12 percent of admin workers eating out five times a week for lunch. Some secretarial admin workers said they don't even make it outside the building for lunch, opting to grab something quick from a vending machine. 38 percent of receptionists said they eat more junk food at the office than at home and 13 percent of those receptionists said they don't usually eat fruit or vegetables during the work week. |
