Legal Secretaries Benefit from Flexible Packages |
09 Jan 2007 |
The importance of flexibility to legal support staff as a key indicator of their job satisfaction is highlighted in the 2006 Crone Corkill Salary Survey. The report also reveals an increase in the recruitment process timeframe, despite a continued candidate shortage; a heightened demand for ‘float secretaries’; and a rise in the demand for ‘temp to perm’ cover. The survey reveals that variety and flexibility are increasingly critical to job satisfaction. A high proportion of Crone Corkill candidates (52 per cent) said that they would opt for flexible-based benefits over financial gain (15 per cent) and 56 per cent of candidates believe that flexible working enhances productivity. Tracy Durrant, managing director, Crone Corkill, says: “To champion employee choice and retain the very best legal employees, an increasing number of organisations are offering a selection of ‘value added’ benefits. These range from career breaks, part-time working and health care choices to childcare vouchers, pet insurance and home computer schemes.” |
