Jobs in banking sector feels crunch

According to a recent survey by Broadbean, the number of banking jobs advertised has fallen considerably since summer.

3.9 per cent of online vacancies were for banking jobs in the banking industry at the beginning of summer, compared to just 2.9 per cent banking sector jobs in September.

Furthermore, jobs in banking have decreased by 19 per cent in August compared to the same month in 2006 with a general fall of 16 per cent over this summer.

The firm asserts that the banking employment sector has seen strong growth on the whole, with a 97 per cent rise year on year in the number of jobs advertised on the web.

The company adds that despite the recent drop, the number of banking jobs advertised online on the whole is increasing as the online recruitment industry continues to grow.
