The 6th Malaysia Career and Training Fair 2007 to be held at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur from April 6 to 8 will feature about 15,000 jobs and more than 2,000 training and learning opportunities. Among the 200 participants are multinational and local companies such as Sony, Hitachi, Motorola, Resorts World, Alliance Bank, Star Cruises, Samsung, Accenture and Sime Darby. The event is organised by online recruitment portal, JobStreet.com and AIC Events Sdn Bhd. AIC Events managing director William Ng expects more than 80,000 visitors this year. “The economy is showing strong signs of growth, and this is reflected in the overwhelming response we have received from employers in all sectors. “Some companies have booked booths as early as last year, and have been making preparations to ensure they get the best candidates at the fair,” Ng added. JobStreet.com marketing and business development vice-president Simon Si said they would be introducing a few JobStreet.com innovations, including the SMS job application and the career profile system. “One of our main goals this year is to attract more quality visitors, including candidates at senior management and professional level," he added. Ng also noted that vacancies were available in sales and marketing, accounting and finance, oil and gas, IT and engineering and administrative positions. |
